In July 2009, Mary Gordon was appointed Vice President, Manufacturing, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Manufacturing Company, a subsidiary of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company. In this role, Mary oversees smokeless tobacco processing and manufacturing through U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company facilities in Nashville, Tenn.; Franklin Park, Ill.; and Hopkinsville, Ky.
Prior to joining USSTMC, Mary was Vice President and General Manager, Manufacturing, Philip Morris USA, a position she held since September 2006.
Mary joined PM USA in 1987 as an electrical engineer and has enjoyed a diverse work experience. She served as Manager of PM USA’s Planning department in New York; Production Manager for PM USA York Manufacturing in Williamsburg, Va.; and eventually Plant Director for PM USA’s Cabarrus Manufacturing Center in Concord, N.C.
Mary returned to Richmond in 2001, where she held various positions including Director of Processing Plants and Vice President of Marketing & Promotion Services before being appointed to lead the Richmond Manufacturing Center.
Mary has bachelor’s degrees from Spelman College and Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master's in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
She currently serves on the boards of directors of the Virginia Manufacturers’ Association and the Metropolitan Business League.
